The 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War

The Saint-Petersburg Union of Designers invites you to take part in the exhibition devoted to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

In May 2020 the world celebrates the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Second World War. Our grandparents played a decisive role in winning the War. Despite the fact, that situation was very different for many countries and for many people, who were victims of this great tragedy, we can claim that the Second World War has affected most of our families. So the Saint-Petersburg Union of Designers considers it necessary to celebrate the anniversary and decided to organize exhibition of posters as one of the most succinct and figurative genre of graphic design.

This exhibition has been conceived before the epidemic of COVID-19. Now Organizing Committee of the exhibition realizes the impossibility of holding it in the real space. So we decided to postpone the exhibition to a later date. The Committee will announce it additionally. But after 9 May 2020 we are going to present all posters on our site: designspb.ru. It will give designers the opportunity to show their projects to a large audience. We think that site of the Saint-Petersburg Union of Designers is the most convenient place for reflection in the current situation. We are sure that it is very important humanistic project and ask all of you to take part in the exhibition.

Purpose:

We believe this exhibition will be our duty to past and future generations. It is our moment of silence. It is opportunity for everyone to express their own feelings about this tragedy, to empathize with the complex history of our country and the world. Poster is a graphic way to reflect the reality and to connect all of us. In this case it becomes the communicator that helps us to gather our ideas about pain, heroism, grief and pride.

The initiator of the exhibition is the section of Graphic Design of the Saint-Petersburg Union of Designers. We invite all of our colleagues who are concerned about this issue and agree with the objectives of the event.

Terms and conditions:

- Designers of any age including students of artistic and design institutions are allowed to participate in the exhibition and may send their posters to the Organizing Committee.
- Everyone who are interested in participating in the exhibition should send poster or series of posters in JPG format (2000 px on the long side and proportions of 2:3, both horizontal and vertical orientation) to the organizer’s e-mail address.
- The number of posters, as well as date of their creation is not restricted.
- The Organizing Committee has right to reject any work which will be submitted for participation if it doesn’t comply with the law of Russia Federation and professional ethics.
- All posters admitted for participation will be published on the resources of the Saint-Petersburg Union of Designers: Facebook Вконтакте Instagram
